If I have a string named WORDS- how do I change the text color ?

I want the variable to change color- not the text WORDS. WORDS can be anything such as cow- dog etc.

Whenever I enter youtube it comes up with loads of writing and its all messed up. It says i dont have Javascript on when I do and i also have the latest flash player. Can anybody help?
