massage error- type error-object expected-number-2146823281

My friend keeps getting this error message whenever she tries to view a youtube video or a myspace page.

"Hello- you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia s Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player."

She has enable Java Script- Installed the new version of Macromedia Flash Player- Cleared her Cache and Cleared her Cookies. The only thing she hasn t tried was reinstalling Internet Explorer- which we are going to try right now.

Okay i feel really N00bish/stupid asking this question but when im running Windoxs XP i have sound and when im running Linux i dont?
I finally got flashplayer running so i can see outube videos- and YES I KNOW MY VOLUME IS TURNED UP AN SPEAKERS PLUGGED IN so no...its not that- could my javascript effect it?
Anyway any suggestions to fix this problem?
